ABOUT
Vintage Pedal Cars is about the joy and of collecting these exceptional toys that at one stage or another formed a part of one or several generations of childhood experiences. The thought of owning another families sentimental memories in a purely original state to display for others to reminisce about their own bygone era is what truly excites me to be the keeper of these items.
HISTORY
I’ve been collecting in excess of 20 years. Not just pedal cars, but old toys, signs, bowsers, catalogues, basically anything vintage and industrial, rare and collectable. But pedal cars definitely make up the greater part of my collection.
Identification
There are literally hundreds of pedal cars that were made here in Australia, I still have trouble with identifying a few myself. Especially if they’re early pedal cars and there isn’t much or any literature on them. Then there are the rare exceptions of special orders and the one offs which came out of some toy factories. But for identification of 95% of the Australian and UK pedal car history, hit me up with any images or questions to help identify what you have.
Valuations
Just like everything else in life, pedal cars are valued on their age, rarity and condition. Something from the 1930’s with low production numbers will be worth more than something from the 1960’s of similar condition with large production numbers. Is it rusty, is it dented, repainted, complete or missing many of its original parts. All these factors come into play when evaluating a pedal car and I’m happy to help and always ready to make an offer.
